Terms and Conditions
Definitions: “I”, “my” and “the designer/author” means Kirsten McTeer; “you”, “your” and “the customer” means you as an individual or a group buying the pattern in digital download format; “Ravelry store” means my Ravelry.com online store; “pattern”, “pattern file”, “pattern download” means the knitting pattern available through my Ravelry store in digital format, and any hard copy made by you of the digital form and includes the text, photographs, charts, schematics and illustrations contained within the pattern file, “my website” means scarlett17knits.com, “my Etsy shop” means etsy.com/uk/shop/Scarlett17Knits
Pattern sales: My pattern sales are made through my Ravelry store on Ravelry.com directly, or through my website using Ravelry’s links, or via my Etsy shop at Etsy.com.
Ravelry-related sales: The terms and conditions of Ravelry’s own website apply to use of the site as well as to sales made through their site. Purchases are made through Paypal. Once your payment has been produced through paypal, Ravelry will send a download link email. Instructions for downloading the pattern file are included in the email. Please note that if you wish to exercise your automatic right to cancel within 14 days you should not download the file until the 14 days have passed. See below section Cancellation and refunds for more information.
Etsy.com sales: The terms and conditions of Etsy.com apply to use of the site as well as to sales made through the site. Purchases are made using Etsy Direct Checkout. Once your payment has been made, Etsy will allow you to download the pattern. Please note that if you wish to exercise your automatic right to cancel within 14 days you should not download the file until the 14 days have passed. See below section Cancellation and refunds for more information.
Intellectual property and copyright: You acknowledge that the patterns produced by me and sold through my Ravelry store directly or via my website or through Etsy.com are copyright to and the intellectual property of the designer and are intended for personal use and may not
be copied, distributed, shared or sold without the express permission of the designer. Items knitted using the patterns may not be sold without the permission of the designer. UK copyright law assigns copyright automatically to an author.
Pricing : All my patterns are priced in pounds sterling (GBP). Under changes to VAT charging which came into force on January 1st 2015, VAT is now chargeable on e-services within the EU at the rate applicable to the location of the buyer. The sale of PDF files is classed as an e-service. If you are buying from an EU country outside the UK, VAT will be added to the displayed price of patterns at the rate applicable to the location of the buyer. This price will be displayed before the customer has committed to buying the pattern. Please check the VAT-inclusive price before committing to buy.
Cancellation and refunds: Under the UK Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you have the right to cancel the purchase of digital download files bought online within 14 days of purchase and to receive a full refund, on condition that the digital content has not been downloaded. You may download the digital content within the 14 day cancellation period but by doing so you expressly request that the digital content is to be made available to you immediately and you thereby agree to waive your rights to an automatic cancellation and refund.
If you wish to cancel and receive a refund, please email [email protected] BEFORE you have started the digital download process. Your email request for cancellation must include the name used for purchase, email address, the name of the pattern(s) which you would like to cancel/refund, and the Ravelry receipt number or Etsy transaction details. Once I have received confirmation from Ravelry, or Etsy, that the digital download has not been started and the link to do so has been cancelled by them, your refund will be processed through Paypal or by Etsy, as applicable.
