The Answer headband pattern: £2.25 (plus EU VAT if applicable, at your local rate)
I have always looked silly in hats. I love to knit them but I don’t look good in them, but equally I don’t like cold ears. Finally I realised what I needed was a headband that would cover my ears and keep them warm but look better than a hat. I had found The Answer!
The Answer uses less than 100 yards of aran weight or heavy worsted yarn. The textured pattern works up quickly and knitted-on ties fasten the band at the back of the head. Both charted and written instructions for the main band are given; the ties are picked up and knitted on afterwards using written instructions. The finished headband is approximately 4" wide and 18" long, although the length can be customised to fit your head.
You will need: 85-100 yards of aran weight or heavy worsted weight yarn
: 5mm (US 8) knitting needles
: darning needle, for weaving in ends.
